As an English-speaking Paris photographer, I had the pleasure of meeting Joaquin & Paola at the very beginning of spring—when Paris slowly wakes up under soft sunlight and blooming flowers.
Joaquin had traveled all the way from the United States to visit Paola, who was living in Paris while pursuing a master’s degree in fashion and design. During his stay, he planned a deeply romantic surprise: a proposal during an intimate dinner he prepared just for her. Paola had no idea—and her joy in that moment made it truly unforgettable.
The very next day, Joaquin wanted to extend the magic by booking a Paris engagement photo session. For them, the choice of location was obvious: their favorite place in Paris, the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens.
A Love Story Across Continents
On a lovely spring afternoon, I met the newly engaged couple for their session. Paola was glowing with happiness, still wrapped in the emotions of the proposal.
They shared their story with me: they had met at university and had been together for six years. When Paola moved to Paris to follow her dreams, they continued their relationship long-distance. Despite the popularity of the location, I made sure to guide them to quieter, more intimate spots. This allowed them to fully enjoy their experience while capturing authentic, emotional moments without the distraction of crowds.
We laughed, shared stories, and truly connected—it felt like walking through Paris with friends.
